The drift

Most men misunderstand longevity.

Not just how long you live — but how long you stay:

Because there's a very specific point most men don't talk about.

It's not a collapse.

It's a slow drift.

A slight drop in energy you explain away as "stress."

A bit more body fat around the middle you accept as "age."

A quieter libido you don't quite question.

A slower recovery after training, late nights, alcohol, workload.

Individually, none of it feels like a problem. Together, it is your trajectory.

What we measure

The five systems that determine how you age.

Longevity medicine isn't about fear or extremes. It's about identifying the early shifts in the systems that matter — and intervening early enough that you don't notice a decline later.

01

Hormonal regulation

The endocrine system sets the tone for everything else — energy, body composition, mood, recovery. We measure total and free testosterone, SHBG, DHEA-S, IGF-1 and full thyroid function, then read them as a system rather than as isolated numbers. The point is not to chase a value. It is to understand where regulation is starting to drift.

02

Metabolic efficiency

How well your body handles fuel — glucose, insulin, fat — is the strongest predictor of how you age. We measure HbA1c, fasting insulin, lipid sub-particles and visceral fat through Tanita body composition. Together, these tell us whether your metabolism is steady, or quietly losing efficiency in the background.

03

Cardiovascular resilience

Cardiovascular events are the single most common reason men in their 50s and 60s lose capability suddenly. We move beyond cholesterol totals — sub-particle profiling, lipoprotein(a) where indicated, blood pressure under load, and VO2 Max as the cleanest single marker of cardiovascular fitness. Resilience, not just risk score.

04

Inflammatory load

Low-grade inflammation is the slow tax on every other system. We track hsCRP, ferritin and homocysteine alongside lifestyle inputs — sleep debt, alcohol, training load, gut symptoms. The marker matters less than the pattern. We are looking for the first signs that the body is running hotter than it should.

05

Sleep architecture and recovery

Sleep is the single most under-measured driver of how you age. Through your wearable we track total sleep, deep and REM proportions, resting heart rate and HRV — then map that against your training, your work pattern and your blood markers. Recovery and sleep data, not guesswork.

The diagnostic stack

Blood markers that actually matter — read together, not in isolation.

Every Longevity Baseline includes the full stack below. Results are reviewed by Dr Gemma Lewis and returned to you through a private dashboard.

01 — Bloods

Stride male panel

The full longevity-relevant panel, drawn at the clinic and analysed in a UKAS-accredited lab.

Testosterone (total + free), SHBG, PSA, lipid sub-particles, HbA1c, hsCRP, IGF-1, DHEA-S, full thyroid (TSH, fT3, fT4, antibodies), vitamin D, B12, folate, ferritin.
02 — Biological age

GlycanAge

Glycan-based read of biological age and inflammatory ageing trajectory. Re-tested at month 12.

Fingerprick sample. Result returns within four weeks.
03 — Methylation

TruDiagnostic

DNA methylation panel including DunedinPACE — the rate at which your body is currently ageing.

Saliva sample. Reviewed alongside GlycanAge for a triangulated picture.
04 — Composition

Tanita body composition

Segmental analysis — visceral fat, skeletal muscle mass, hydration, phase angle. Re-measured every quarter.

In-clinic, three-minute assessment. Used as our primary composition tracker.
05 — Sleep & HRV

Wearable data

Continuous sleep architecture, HRV, resting heart rate and recovery. Synced to your dashboard.

Compatible with most modern wearables. We do not require a specific brand.
06 — Cardiorespiratory

VO2 Max assessment

Direct measurement of cardiorespiratory fitness — the cleanest single marker of all-cause mortality risk.

Conducted via partner facility. Re-tested at six months.
07 — Pelvic floor

EMSella baseline

Pelvic floor function assessment alongside the longevity workup. Optional, included in combined programmes.

Pelvic floor rehabilitation only — see two paths section.
Two paths in

Most men start one of two ways.

A specific issue you want measured and addressed. Or a deeper baseline before you commit to twelve months of structured care. Either is a reasonable place to begin.

Door 01

Pelvic Health — EMSella

From £495. A six-session course over three weeks.

11,200 pelvic floor contractions in 28 minutes. Sit fully clothed. No drugs. Six sessions over three weeks.

EMSella is a pelvic floor rehabilitation device. It strengthens the muscle group that controls continence and pelvic stability — a system most men ignore until it starts to drift.

  • Post-prostatectomy recovery — supporting return of continence
  • Age-related continence and urgency
  • Post-vasectomy pelvic recovery
  • General pelvic floor wellness and conditioning
Door 02

Longevity Baseline → 12-month membership

From £2,499. Diagnostic-led, Gemma-led, dashboard-tracked.

The full diagnostic stack — bloods, biological age, methylation, composition, sleep, VO2 Max — read as one system by Dr Gemma Lewis.

You leave the baseline with a written plan. Not generic advice. The specific shifts your data shows, the markers we will track, and the cadence of review for the year ahead.

  • Initial 90-minute consultation with Dr Gemma Lewis
  • Full diagnostic stack drawn and analysed
  • Written plan — markers, interventions, review cadence
  • Optional 12-month membership for ongoing care
Pricing

Transparent. Fixed. No subscriptions you can't see the edge of.

All consultations and assessments take place at our Derby clinic. Membership is optional after the baseline. Quarterly review keeps the dashboard live without committing to the full year.

Clinical lead

Dr Gemma Lewis.

I trained as a surgeon before moving into general practice. Most of my career has been spent watching the same pattern — patients arriving in their 50s and 60s with a problem that started shifting in their 30s, and nobody measured it.

DoctoriumGP exists to do that measuring earlier. The five systems. The markers that actually matter. A written plan you can read in plain English, and the cadence of review to act on it.

I sign off every clinical decision personally. That is the difference between a longevity service and a wellness brand.

FAQ

The questions men actually ask.

Is EMSella a treatment for erectile dysfunction?

No. EMSella is a pelvic floor rehabilitation device. It strengthens the pelvic floor muscle group — useful in continence, post-prostatectomy recovery and general pelvic conditioning. Broader sexual health concerns are best discussed at consultation, where we can take a proper history and direct you to the right pathway.

Do I need a referral?

No. DoctoriumGP is a private clinic — you can book directly. If you are already under NHS care for a related condition we will ask for the relevant history, but a formal referral is not required.

Where is the clinic?

4 Woburn House, Vernon Gate, Derby, DE1 1UL. On-site parking and step-free access. We sit just outside Derby city centre, ten minutes from the A38 and twelve minutes from Derby station.

How long do I wait for results?

Most blood markers return within five working days. GlycanAge takes around four weeks. TruDiagnostic methylation takes around six weeks. We schedule your results consultation once the slowest panel is back, so the picture is read as a whole — not piece by piece.

Is this NHS?

No. DoctoriumGP is a private CQC-registered clinic. We do not replace your NHS GP — we work alongside, and where appropriate, will write to your NHS practice with shared findings.

Can I bring my partner?

Yes. Many men do — particularly for the baseline consultation and the results review. The plan affects the household. If your partner would like their own assessment, we offer the equivalent baseline in the women's longevity tier.

How is this different from a private health screen?

A health screen tells you whether you are unwell today. A longevity baseline tells you the trajectory you are on, and what to change to alter it. Same blood draw — different lens, different markers, different conversation, different review cadence.
